About Us
Dave Capriotti started Madcap Racing Engines in 1976. The company built many winning and national record holding drag racing engines. In the early 1990’s we expanded to oval track engines, winning races in the Southwest Tour and Winston West Series. Along with local track championships, our portfolio was rapidly expanding.
Madcap was sold in 1994 and after a few years it was time to start a whole new era. Dave left to start up DC Racing Engines along with Chris Raley and Rick Wilermton. Drag engines were still on the menu but after success with Touring Series the company moved towards specializing in Oval Track Competitions.
In 2005, DC Racing Engines was contracted by Furniture Row Racing to develop their Busch and Cup Engine Programs. Now, armed with that new technology, DC Racing is once again open to build your winning engine combination.
